It could be a powerful statement about sexual slavery and human trafficking! But, on a more metaphorical level, it could also be seen as a struggle between fantasies and conventions...

i'm going with the second part of your comment, Sora as she/he's too happy a being to be about human trafficking. slavery on a whole other level, maybe. i hope you read the little poem in my description. :)
